Undergraduate Studio 401
A Masterplan for the Historic District in Annapolis, MD
Instructor, James McCrery
Fall 2018
This semester the classical section studied master planning and the colonial architecture of historic Annapolis, Maryland. The studio began by redesigning the historic district near the U.S. Naval Academy. Currently there is a lot of dead space and our masterplan goal was to create opportunities for new architecture around the waterfront. I also analyzed the different environmental design opportunities for this area and applied meaningful strategies that would hopefully achieve LEED Gold. My design strives to unify the area around the waterfront. This would help frame the view leading to the Severn River.
